Rocket Lab has flown its 16th Electron mission of 2026, delivering a single Earth-observation satellite to a 500-kilometre circular low-Earth orbit for an unnamed customer. Lift-off from Launch Complex 1 on New Zealand's Mahia Peninsula happened at 15:28 local time on 11 September 2026, and the payload separated cleanly about an hour later.
Mission "Happily Ever Faster" is Electron's 95th overall
The dedicated Earth-observation mission — nicknamed Happily Ever Faster in a nod to Rocket Lab's rapid launch cadence — was Electron's 95th flight since debut and the third dedicated launch to LC-1 in September alone. Rocket Lab said the customer had booked a bespoke inclination and altitude, benefits it has emphasised across its small-satellite marketing pitch.

What's next: back-to-back Synspective and iQPS launches
Rocket Lab has stacked its manifest heavily around Earth-imaging customers, following the "Happily Ever Faster" flight with more Synspective StriX SAR missions and iQPS SAR launches. The company is also expanding its national-security footprint after joining the US Space Force SDN consortium in August.
