Rocket Lab (Nasdaq: RKLB) successfully launched its 94th Electron rocket on September 3, 2026, deploying a new StriX synthetic aperture radar satellite for Japanese constellation operator Synspective. The 'Owl Around The World' mission lifted off from Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand at 12:01 am NZST and delivered the payload to a 575 km, 38-degree low Earth orbit.
15 launches in 2026, 100% Synspective mission record
The mission marks Rocket Lab's 15th launch of 2026 and the 11th dedicated flight for Synspective since 2020 — a partnership that has produced a flawless 100% mission-success record. Rocket Lab still has 16 further missions on the manifest to complete Synspective's constellation before 2030. Electron continues to be the world's most frequently launched small-lift orbital rocket.
Custom fairing, one satellite
Rocket Lab said a specially-configured Electron fairing was built to match the exact dimensions of the StriX satellite, a hallmark of dedicated launch service that has drawn Synspective back for repeat business. StriX satellites contribute to a growing SAR constellation used for urban development planning, construction and infrastructure monitoring, and disaster response — capabilities that are increasingly critical to the same market seeing rapid buildup from ISRO's GISAT-1A geosynchronous imager and BlackSky's Gen-3 electro-optical fleet.
Neutron on the horizon
Beyond Electron, Rocket Lab is pushing toward the debut of its reusable medium-lift Neutron vehicle, and continues to expand its Space Systems arm — spacecraft, star trackers, reaction wheels, radios, separation systems, and solar. The company said its satellites and components have now powered more than 1,700 missions in Earth orbit and beyond.
