Earth-observation operator Satellogic (NASDAQ: SATL) and applied-AI analytics company SynMax announced a strategic collaboration on June 23, 2026 to build and deliver AI-powered geospatial intelligence products for defense and intelligence customers, pairing Satellogic's growing satellite constellation with SynMax's agentic intelligence layer.
From imagery to continuous intelligence
The partnership combines Satellogic's high-resolution, high-frequency collection — including its on-satellite AI and the forthcoming Merlin constellation, designed for one-meter global coverage beginning with a first launch in October 2026 — with SynMax's ability to fuse satellite data with additional intelligence sources. The goal is to shorten the path from observation to decision across use cases such as terrestrial domain awareness, infrastructure and border monitoring, and pattern-of-life analysis.

Meeting demand for persistent monitoring
SynMax, headquartered in Houston, is already used by U.S. and allied defense agencies for vessel monitoring, dark-fleet detection and sanctioned-trade analysis. As one of the inaugural partners building on Satellogic's infrastructure, it will deliver intelligence layers tuned to the defense and intelligence mission. "Satellogic's constellation gives us daily coverage of the entire planet at one-meter resolution, and SynMax fuses it with the full range of intelligence sources to surface the threats no one thought to task," said SynMax CEO Eric Anderson.
A crowded race for space-based intelligence
The deal reflects accelerating demand from customers shifting from one-off imagery purchases to persistent monitoring programs, a trend also driving rounds and contracts across the sector — from ICEYE's EUR 450M Series F for SAR satellites to Open Cosmos' Atlantic Constellation work and NASA's commercial satellite data awards. Satellogic and SynMax said they are already pursuing joint customers and expect to share further milestones around the first Merlin launch later this year.
