SEEQC, the Elmsford, New York-based chip-based quantum computing company, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Taiwan's Quantum Industry Technology Promotion Office (QITPO) to build out a US-Taiwan quantum technology and supply-chain ecosystem, the company said on September 3, 2026.
Deal signed on the SEMICON Taiwan floor
The MoU was signed by SEEQC Chief Technology Officer Dr. Shu-Jen Han during SEMICON Taiwan 2026. It sets up a framework for the two sides to collaborate on technology development, manufacturing, testing and validation, commercialisation and supply-chain build-out. QITPO will also help connect SEEQC with relevant Taiwanese companies and research institutions for technical exchange and joint development.
Cryo-CMOS, SFQ chips and packaging
SEEQC's play is to graft its US-developed IP, from room-temperature control electronics to single-flux quantum (SFQ) chip manufacturing and superconducting QPU packaging, onto Taiwan's foundry, advanced electronics and packaging capabilities. Han said the collaboration extends relationships SEEQC has already built in Taiwan across CMOS interface development and superconducting chip fabrication.
Second Taiwan-quantum deal this week
The SEEQC-QITPO MoU lands alongside the record-scale SEMICON Taiwan opening and a wave of quantum activity, including this week's Quobly-TNO-OrangeQS silicon spin qubit deals and the Quantinuum-Aramco industrial quantum MoU. SEEQC previously partnered with Taiwan's ITRI on a superconducting chip manufacturing line.
