VinDynamics, the humanoid robotics company under Vietnam's Vingroup conglomerate, has officially unveiled its first humanoid robot - Dyno - at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2026) in Vienna and at Computex Taipei 2026, putting Vietnam on the global embodied AI map alongside heavyweights from China, the United States, Japan and South Korea.

Dyno: an AI-driven home and security assistant

Dyno is positioned as a versatile humanoid for modern living environments, combining an AI platform with a responsive environmental sensing stack tuned for security and surveillance across urban areas, campuses and integrated service complexes. The robot is also being developed as a household assistant, leveraging a flexible arm span and dexterous manipulation to handle everyday tasks.

The company pulled Dyno out of the lab earlier this year for a real-world pilot at Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc, one of Vietnam's largest semi-wildlife conservation parks. In that demanding outdoor environment, Dyno acted as a multilingual robotic guide, narrating attractions and fielding visitor questions, demonstrating its ability to handle dynamic situations and direct human interaction.

Full-stack robotics, not just a chassis

VinDynamics is also showing off the broader robotics ecosystem behind Dyno. At both shows the team is presenting a specialized actuator system, a robotic hand benchmarked against international dexterity standards, and a dedicated AI training dataset built for real-world deployment scenarios. The message to potential partners is that Vingroup's engineers can deliver across the entire humanoid value chain - mechanical design, actuators, software and AI - rather than slot in as an integrator of foreign technology.

Vietnam's first serious humanoid push

VinDynamics was founded in September 2025 as Vingroup's dedicated robotics arm. "The introduction of Dyno at ICRA 2026 and Computex 2026 is not only an important milestone for VinDynamics but also reflects the aspirations of Vietnamese engineers to contribute to one of today's most advanced technology fields," chairman La Manh Hung said at the launch. "With the belief that humanoid robots will play an increasingly important role in daily life, VinDynamics is focused on developing practical technologies with people at the center."

Crowded but expanding field

Dyno is entering a global market that already includes NVIDIA's Isaac GR00T reference humanoid with Unitree's H2 Plus, Apptronik's $520M-funded Apollo platform, Hexagon's AEON inside BMW's Leipzig plant and a wave of Chinese contenders led by Unitree, which is now pushing toward a Shanghai STAR Market IPO. VinDynamics is betting that Vietnam's mix of low-cost engineering, AI talent and Vingroup's manufacturing footprint can give it a foothold in tourism, hospitality, security and home assistance use cases as the global humanoid market scales.
