Chinese embodied AI company AGIBOT on June 9, 2026 staged its first partner conference in Indonesia, officially opening a market expansion that will see localized humanoid solutions deployed across Southeast Asia's largest economy. From Stage Demo To Commercial Rollout
AGIBOT used the event to demo humanoid robots performing autonomous mobility, human-machine interaction and task execution — and to formalize a Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) model that lowers the entry cost for Indonesian operators. The company plans to package localized solutions for manufacturing, logistics, education and public services, leaning on its Genie Studio zero-code platform and the Genie Envisioner world model to speed customer onboarding.
Government Tailwind
Indonesian officials at the event positioned AGIBOT as a pioneer for the country's humanoid robot industry, signaling regulatory and procurement support. The Jakarta launch dovetails with Indonesia's national push to climb the manufacturing value chain and absorb Chinese physical-AI investment while it scales domestic capacity, including a recent uptick in joint robotics R&D programs.
Race For Southeast Asia
AGIBOT's Indonesia debut comes as competitors race to lock in regional anchor customers. Earlier this year it brought its AGIBOT World Challenge to ICRA in Vienna, and the company has been tightening its model stack alongside rivals such as Unitree and Galaxea. Chinese embodied-AI exporters have also been hardened by U.S. restrictions on Chinese robotics, pushing many to court non-Western markets first.
