NeoVolta’s majority-owned subsidiary NeoVolta Power has signed a five-year strategic supply and manufacturing collaboration with SK On that pairs 9 GWh of US-made LFP cell purchases with a matching 9 GWh pack-manufacturing agreement, bringing combined activity to up to 18 GWh through 2031.
What the deal covers
Under the signed cell-supply agreement, SK On will deliver 9 gigawatt-hours of US-manufactured lithium-iron-phosphate cells to NeoVolta Power’s Pendergrass, Georgia plant from 2027 through 2031. A broader framework then flips the flow: SK On supplies an additional 9 GWh of LFP cells, and NeoVolta Power builds energy-storage packs for SK On to purchase over the same window. Combined, the two arms cover 18 GWh — a scale the Nasdaq-listed NEOV described as its biggest US manufacturing milestone yet.
From residential inverter to utility-scale platform
NeoVolta made its name on residential and commercial LFP storage; NeoVolta Power is the utility-scale bet, engineered around pouch-format LFP cells. CEO Ardes Johnson said the collaboration “secures long-term access to US-manufactured LFP cells” for the initial Pendergrass line and positions NeoVolta Power to add a second line targeting 8 GWh of annual BESS output in 2028. Daejin Choi, SK On’s ESS head, called NeoVolta Power “a strategic partner” for SK On’s US energy-storage push.
Why it matters
The deal locks in a US-made LFP supply chain that ties into a rapidly expanding grid pipeline — echoing Econergy’s co-located BESS in Romania and Field Energy’s 10 GWh Scotland consents, and giving SK On a US-domestic pack-manufacturing lane in a market where AI data-centre demand is now the dominant growth story.
