UBTECH Fires Up World's First 10,000-Unit Humanoid Robot Factory In Liuzhou

UBTECH switched on a Siemens-built super smart factory in Liuzhou that produces a Walker S or Cruzr humanoid every 10 minutes, with annual capacity of more than 10,000 units and robots working the assembly line themselves.

UBTECH Robotics has switched on what it calls the world's first industrial humanoid robot super smart factory, a 14,000 square meter site in Liuzhou, Guangxi designed to churn out more than 10,000 Walker S and Cruzr robots a year and to use its own humanoids as line workers.

One Humanoid Every 10 Minutes

Production started on September 12, 2026 and immediately moved the Hong Kong-listed shares, which jumped more than 3% on September 14 to an intraday high of HK$80.4 with roughly HK$125 million of turnover. According to UBTECH and reporting by China's Global Times, the plant sits under a 13.8 meter ceiling and is engineered to deliver one industrial humanoid every 10 minutes, a cadence the company frames as the moment humanoids move from prototypes and small-batch pilots to standardized mass production. Each robot leaves with a unique serial number and full traceability across component sourcing, assembly parameters and inspection records.

The site literally uses humanoids to make humanoids. UBTECH's own Cruzr Y1 and Cruzr S2 units handle depalletizing, palletizing, loading and internal material transport, while collaborative arms paired with 360-degree rotating worktables tighten the more than 2,000 screws each unit requires. Autonomous forklifts and AGVs run the surrounding logistics, and a 65 square meter automated three-dimensional warehouse stores up to 112 finished humanoids while increasing space utilization by more than 50%.

Built On A Siemens Digital Twin

The plant was designed hand-in-hand with Siemens Digital Industries Software, using Plant Simulation to build a 1:1 model of aisles, workstations, shelving and AGVs before commissioning, and Siemens' Intelligence Center X platform to run the Yanshee MOM manufacturing operations management system that schedules production, dispatches material and enforces quality control. That flexible mixed-line design lets the same floor swap between Walker S and Cruzr production without large hardware modifications, a bottleneck traditional car-style assembly lines have struggled with.

China Pulls Ahead In The Humanoid Race

UBTECH already marked the 1,000th Walker S2 off earlier lines in June and has been locking in factory orders alongside Galbot and AGIBOT for BYD, Foxconn, CATL and Airbus. Liuzhou is the first plant sized for five-figure annual output. Overseas rivals including Tesla Optimus and Figure AI are still ramping their own volume lines, so UBTECH's near-term supply-side lead will now be tested against how quickly it can convert that capacity into disclosed industrial customer orders and improving gross margin.
