India's AM Intelligence Orders 9,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin Systems For Hyderabad AI Factory

AM Intelligence, backed by renewable-energy giant Greenko Group, has placed a binding order for roughly 9,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 rack systems for its Hyderabad AI factory, kicking off an $8 billion, 1 GW compute-as-a-service buildout.

India's AM Intelligence Orders 9,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin Systems For Hyderabad AI Factory

AM Intelligence, an Indian AI infrastructure company launched by the promoters of renewable energy producer Greenko Group, has placed a binding order for approximately 9,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems - one of the largest single commitments for the chipmaker's next-generation rack-scale platform anywhere in Asia.

A Hyderabad AI factory anchored on green power

The Vera Rubin NVL72 racks will be deployed at AM Intelligence's first AI data centre in Hyderabad, with servers slated to come online in the first quarter of 2027, the company said in a statement on August 25, 2026. Customers are expected to include hyperscalers, AI labs and organisations building sovereign Indian AI models, and the facility is designed to run trillion-parameter models and next-generation agentic AI workloads.

Greenko founder and president Mahesh Kolli said initial capacity has already been anchored by a large US customer under NDA, and that the group's low-cost renewable power base is central to the pitch. "In global token economics, energy prices play a huge part," Kolli told Bloomberg. "We're one of the lowest-cost AI computation infrastructure players globally."

$8 billion, 1 GW - and 5 GW by 2030

The Hyderabad order is the opening phase of a broader plan to build 1 GW of compute-as-a-service capacity spread across India, the United States, Finland and Malaysia, funded with more than $8 billion in capex through a mix of debt, equity and bond-market issuance. The group has publicly targeted 5 GW of data centre capacity by 2030.

The buildout puts AM Intelligence in the same league as Anthropic's Theseus Infrastructure and Lancium's gigawatt AI factories as another attempt to lock in scarce Vera Rubin allocation ahead of the platform's ramp.

Vera Rubin allocations remain tight

NVIDIA has warned repeatedly that Vera Rubin supply is oversubscribed. The AM Intelligence order lands in the same week as the company detailed a $500B financing consortium with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman and KKR to underwrite AI infrastructure, and expanded ties with AWS to add two million more GPUs to Amazon's fleet - see our coverage of the AWS-NVIDIA deal and the $500B financing pact.

India is emerging as a serious hub in that scramble. Andhra Pradesh recently cleared a Rs 31,387 crore green AI data centre project in Visakhapatnam, and AM Intelligence says undersea cable links now let US customers use Indian compute with roughly 300 ms of latency - low enough for training and many inference workloads.
