Vention and Teradyne Robotics have unveiled a strategic collaboration to build a digital twin creation platform optimized for Universal Robots cobot cells. Announced June 22, 2026 at Automate 2026 in Chicago, the partnership aims to let manufacturers design, simulate and operate modular UR work cells inside a single software environment, eliminating much of the trial-and-error that slows automation projects.
One environment for design and simulation
Built on Vention's MachineBuilder platform, the UR-focused experience comes pre-loaded with the technical specifications of the entire Universal Robots cobot line, a UR+ component marketplace, validated application templates and rapid high-fidelity 3D simulation. By making every design "build-ready" and validating reach and modular framing up front, the platform lets engineers confirm a cell will work before a single bolt is tightened.
Live at Automate 2026
Initial rollout targets North America and Europe, with live demonstrations at Automate 2026 showcasing AI-driven bin picking and large-scale welding. The demos feature Vention's Rapid Operator AI, powered by the NVIDIA Isaac open robotics platform, and welding applications running on Universal Robots' UR12e and UR20 cobots. Teradyne Robotics, the parent of both Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots, frames the tie-up as part of a broader push toward software-defined, physical-AI-ready automation.
