Beijing-based data startup Noitom Robotics on Thursday released HiPHI, a 617.5-hour high-precision optical motion-capture dataset that it says is among the largest of its kind ever made publicly available, unveiled on the release day of the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing.
What Is In HiPHI
The dataset combines 371.8 hours of whole-body human motion with 245.7 hours of human-object interaction recorded from 132 performers, captured at sub-millimeter marker precision and 90 Hz. Each object's 6-DoF trajectory and mesh is synchronized with the performer's body so that carrying, pulling and pushing behaviors are logged as physically coherent interactions rather than isolated motion clips.
Motion is organized around 22 FrameNet frames and 214 Frame-Lexical Unit pairs, a linguistic scaffold Noitom uses to systematically expand the covered motion space rather than relying on a hand-written activity list. The release ships as standardized BVH plus synchronized object data, and totals roughly 200 million frames or 215 GB of data.
Running On A Unitree G1
Policies trained on HiPHI already run on a physical Unitree G1 humanoid — running, sitting, crawling, carrying a box and pulling a suitcase — a live-hardware validation that Noitom points to as evidence its data survives the transfer from motion capture stage to embodied control. Under a matched training-data budget, the company's benchmark reports higher tracking success rates and faster convergence for HiPHI than for existing large-scale baselines such as AMASS, BONES-SEED and Motion-X++.
Free For Research, Licensed For Commercial Use
HiPHI is available now on Hugging Face under the ModalityNet Open Research License v1.0 for non-commercial research and evaluation, with commercial licensing offered through modalitynet.com. The company says the release is a sample of an infrastructure that produces more than 100,000 hours of training data a year for commercial partners, and previews upcoming public drops including an omni-modality interaction corpus later this year.

The launch lands on the release day of the World Robot Conference in Beijing, where more than 2,000 exhibits and over 150 product debuts are queued through August 23. It coincides with a wave of Chinese physical-AI activity, including Xiaomi's first public humanoid robot debut and Unitree Robotics' $66 billion Shanghai STAR Market trading debut. Noitom said additional HiPHI outreach is planned at RO-MAN 2026 in Fukuoka on August 24-28.
Noitom Robotics chief executive Tristan Ruoli Dai said in a statement that the bottleneck in physical AI is not how much data exists but how much of it a machine can actually learn from, and that HiPHI is being released publicly because embodied intelligence needs a shared foundation.
