Tesla pulled the wraps off its Sparks, Nevada factory on September 24, 2026, launching high-volume production of the Semi electric truck and naming a marquee lineup of shipping customers — from PepsiCo and DHL to Einride and IMC Logistics.
The Event At A Glance
Held at the new Sparks Semi plant adjacent to Gigafactory Nevada, the livestream officially opened Tesla's dedicated Semi factory and revealed 11 Semi trucks lined up with customer decals. Tesla says the plant can build 50,000 trucks a year at peak, roughly double the entire US Class 8 EV market in 2025.
Customer Line-Up
PepsiCo, Tesla's first Semi customer since late 2022, was joined by DHL (first delivery December 2025), US Foods, ArcBest, Einride (500-truck order in August), IMC Logistics (50-truck California drayage order announced Sept 22), OK Produce, WattEV and LTS. Tesla was also named primary supplier for a 2,500-truck ZET SCALE order backed by Microsoft and PepsiCo, sharing that program with Kenworth, Volvo and RIDE.
The Truck Itself
Production Semis ship in two configurations: a 325-mile Standard Range and a 500-mile Long Range, both driven by an 800 kW three-motor powertrain. Tesla is also pairing the factory with a dedicated Megacharger corridor across the Pacific-flyway shipping routes, targeting 1.2 MW peak recharge sessions.
Why It Matters
The Semi ramp is a bellwether for whether Class 8 electrification can compete on total cost of ownership without hydrogen fuel-cell subsidies. It also gives Tesla a fresh answer to Wayve's Mercedes deal and Waabi's Volvo autonomous truck partnership in the freight-electrification race.
