XPENG launched its next-generation flagship SUV, the G9L, in China on September 17, 2026, bringing family-sized dimensions, an 800V platform and up to three of the company's in-house Turing AI chips to a segment increasingly defined by on-vehicle intelligence.
Price and lineup
Buyers get six variants — four BEV and two EREV — priced between 231,800 and 319,800 yuan (roughly $34,300–$47,000), with limited-time launch pricing at the lower end of that band. The five-seat SUV measures 5,120mm long with a 3,100mm wheelbase and adds zero-gravity front and rear seats, rear-wheel steering (5.4-meter turning radius), a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen and a dual-zone refrigerator to a family package that XPENG hopes will push the brand past 60,000 monthly deliveries in Q4.
Range, powertrain and 5C charging
BEV variants advertise CLTC ranges of 660–755 km, and the all-wheel-drive top model runs 0–100 km/h in 4.45 seconds. The EREV pair pairs a 1.5L turbocharged range extender with a 63.3-kWh battery for 435 km on electricity and up to 1,602 km combined. The standard 800V platform supports 5C charging — 10 to 80% in about 11 minutes — and the SUV rides on dual-chamber air suspension with variable-damping shocks and standard rear-wheel steering.
Turing chips and second-gen VLA
The G9L is XPENG's first mass-market vehicle to ship with the second generation of the company's Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model. Max, Ultra SE and Ultra trims carry one, two and three Turing AI chips respectively, delivering up to 2,250 TOPS of on-vehicle inference — headroom XPENG is positioning as the foundation for city-wide autonomous driving updates over the vehicle's life. The chip is the same silicon powering XPENG's IRON humanoid robot program.
Where G9L fits in XPENG's roadmap
The G9L slots between the six-seat GX (launched in May) and the smaller Mona L05, filling out a family lineup XPENG has been rebuilding aggressively after the humanoid and robotaxi expansions of the summer. A global launch is scheduled for October 12 at the Paris Motor Show, giving XPENG a European debut for the model just weeks after Chinese deliveries begin. It arrives as domestic rivals — including Lucid and Hello Robotaxi — push their own AI-first vehicle stacks into new markets.
